# Check your Martyn’s Law tier

> Free two-minute check of whether Martyn’s Law applies to your premises or event, and which tier. No email needed.

A free interactive check. It asks what the premises are used for, whether they include a building, how many people are reasonably expected at the same time at busy times, and whether the use is one that stays in the standard tier (places of worship, schools, childcare, further education). It then says whether the premises are likely out of scope, standard tier or enhanced tier, with the reasons, and links to the guide for that tier. If the answer is unclear, it says so and offers a review by a person, who replies within two working days.

The check is guidance, not legal advice: the responsible person makes the final judgement. For the rules behind it, see [What is Martyn’s Law?](https://wardcote.co.uk/martyns-law) and [How to count people](https://wardcote.co.uk/martyns-law/counting-people).
